minimalist floral garland

spring might be my favorite season. it's the season of new beginnings, new challenges, and experiences. like flowers coming back to life, we all feel a renewed energy of moving another year forward. will all the beauty and flowers around outside i can't help but wanting to bring all these beautiful outdoors, in and creating a sense of zen.
a while back i stumbled across a photo on pinterest where somebody had done a flowers on a wall with washi tape tutorial. i thought it was a very pretty and clever idea! (here) it had been on my mind for a while and i had these extra edible flowers left over from whole foods that i just had to do something with. instead of taping to the wall, i attached them to string and a plank of wood to make this chic minimalist floral garland. i would recommend using scotch tape to secure the flowers. sewing through the flowers will cause them to break and the scotch tape actually worked in my favor by preserving the flowers! also- using edible flowers was great because i didn't have to deal with any bugs or any yuckiness.
if you're like me and like soft, subtle colors and designs, this could work great as a table backdrop for cinco de mayo too! its florally and colorful without being too bold and bright, but still gives you a hint of that fiesta look :)
happy spring friends!
